New guest researchers at the Department
A warm welcome to five new guest researchers at the department!
Matei Candea will be affiliated to our department during this semester as the Velux Visiting Professor. Matei will be here until 31. October. You will get a chance to hear more about his work at the department research seminar on Friday 19. September at 13.30-15.30 (room 33.1.18)
David Ilboudo, Issa Sombié and Yacouba Cissao have arrived today from Burkina Faso. They are attached to the project “Fragile Futures: Rural Lives in Times of Conflict”. David and Sombié have been here before, Yacouba is new in Copenhagen. They are all three registered as PhD students at the University of Ouagadougou and will be here for the next three months as part of a Danida (FFU) financed study stay.
Samuel Taylor-Alexander, PhD from the Department of Anthropology, University of Auckland will also be visiting our department for the next couple of months (until December, 1.). Sam’s research looks at reconstructive surgery in Mexico and face transplantation globally. We hope to find an opportunity for Sam to present his work at a seminar and/or he will to give a guest lecture or two in an appropriate class.
