Primary fields of research
My primary research interests are high risk work, the use of force, violence and armed conflict, risk perceptions, transnational organised crime and terrorism.
My Ph.D. project explores the learning of high risk work in elite police and military units. How does elite police officers and soldiers learn to deal professionally with risk, violence and uncertainty?
This question is explored through anthropological fieldwork with armed elite units of Danish police and military.
The research project is applied and will serve as a basis for developing teaching and learning at the Police Academy of Denmark. The project is fully funded by the National Police.
