Bao-Thi Van Cong
PhD Student, PhD fellow
Office hours: Wednesdays 15:00-16:00
I'm a PhD student in social psychology who is passionate about understanding the necessary actions and actors to promote social justice in locally embedded contexts.
Current research
My research integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to explore intersectional LGBTQIA+ perspectives on solidarity and social change. Integrating both qualitative and quantitative methods, the PhD project aims to:
(1) shed light on queer perspectives on allyship, the actions it involves and the actors it is demanded from,
(2) investigate the recognition of ethnic minorities in LGBTQIA+ communities and its link with perceptions of group boundaries in community building,
(3) examine further factors that drive intra- and intergroup solidarity among queer people from minoritized ethnic backgrounds.
Teaching
I teach parts of the following courses:
- Social Psychology: Theory and Methods
