Atreyee Sen receives Global Development Teaching Prize for the second year in a row
Professor Atreyee Sen has been awarded the Global Development Teaching Prize 2025/2026 for the second consecutive year.
The prize is awarded based on student evaluations and recognises excellence in teaching and student engagement. Students praise Atreyee Sen as a passionate and knowledgeable educator who makes complex global theories accessible and relevant through examples from her own field research.
– I feel incredibly honoured to receive the MSc in Global Development Teaching Prize for the second consecutive year. I value interdisciplinary teaching as the most vital part of university life. The classroom is a place where we can be curious together and critically engage with the inequalities that shape our contemporary world, says Atreyee Sen.
Students highlight her ability to create engaging and thought-provoking learning experiences. They also emphasise her supportive approach and note that they leave her lectures feeling inspired and intellectually energised. Head of the Department of Anthropology, Kasper Tang Vangkilde, congratulates Atreyee Sen on the award:

The MSc in Global Development is an interdisciplinary programme that equips students to understand and address contemporary global challenges. Researchers from the Department of Anthropology, including Atreyee Sen, contribute to the programme. Atreyee Sen emphasises that the recognition is a collective achievement:
– I am continually inspired by the openness, intelligence and sheer courage of the students that I have had the privilege to teach in this programme.
