Hanne Overgaard Mogensen appointed Professor of Social Anthropology

Hanne Overgaard Mogensen has been employed at the Department of Anthropology for more than 20 years, during which time she has made significant contributions to research, teaching and the department’s development. She has carried out extensive research in the fields of social and medical anthropology, with a particular focus on East Africa. She has also conducted research on the practice of anthropology and its movement into the labor market.

For 16 years, she has led the Master’s programme in Anthropology of Health and has taught and supervised students at all levels, including PhD students. She has strengthened the department’s collaboration with the wider academic community and made a significant contribution to the working environment as a trade union representative for seven years. These are just some of the many ways in which Hanne Overgaard Mogensen has left a lasting mark on the discipline and the department.

To mark her appointment as professor, Hanne Overgaard Mogensen will give an inaugural lecture. The date of the lecture will be announced shortly in the department’s calendar.
