Integration mellem forestillede og glemte fællesskaber: Tilfældet Danmark

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articleResearchpeer-review

The cultural diversity and global engagement that once was seen to be key to Danish society has been displaced by a notion of a Danish welfare society of culturally homogeneous and therefore equal citizens. As a result of this view immigrants and refugees in Denmark have been targeted as a category of people lacking the cultural skills required to be part of Danish society. This has led to the development of an unequal national community of culturally competent Danes, engaged in integrating the outsiders on a professional or private basis, and culturally handicapped welfare clients in need of integration.
