Nel mezzo della fiera. Nuove ipotesi sulle origini dell’edizione folignate della Commedia

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articleResearchpeer-review

The article looks at the origins of the editio princeps of Dante’s Commedia printed in Foligno by Johan Neumeister in 1472. Following an overview of the socio-economic and cultural ambience of Foligno in the fifteenth century, the analysis looks in detail at the influence which the town’s annual fair on the feast of the Annunciation had on the production of this first edition of Dante’s work. The article proposes a new date for the edition and reconstructs its early distribution routes.
